Happy New Year from a frozen England!
It was great to see everyone at the shows in Denver and Portland in December. I would like to thank Luke and Dorie for their commitment to our trio over the last couple of years, and for their talents.
It has been my ambition to bring the new set to Colorado, and it was great to be able to do a KINK radio session as well. We really enjoyed playing the music and hope that the acoustic versions met with your approval!
It was a blast to see the Bluebird so full on Saturday night, and thanks to all the crew there, and to Ian Lyles in Portland.
Thanks also to Dani at PCM, for helping to organise so much for us over the last seven years. Bon Chance!

We are back in the studio soon to complete the set and I hope to offer the new versions as downloads from this site.
In the meantime I am starting the New Year learning a blues set for Guy Fletcher. It is a challenging task as all the songs are all interesting variations on the standard `12 bar theme, and copying out the lyrics from these ancient recordings reminds me of the economy and down home poetics of the true bluesmen.
Par example " I wore a .44 so long, it made my shoulder sore,
Well I feel so mad this morning,
I don't know where in the world I'm gonna go"
Even bathed in the enthusiasm of the New Year these strange words have a strong resonance for me and like all the roots music, jazz and reggae and country etc, the blues is friend for life.
Now where are those tickets for St Moritz....Gaston les billets?
