UK and US tour dates...

Dear All,

Along with the upcoming UK shows with Kim Richey I am pleased to announce we will be premiering our acoustic evening in Colorado, and hopefully Portland OR too, at the end of this year. A full set of old and new songs all differently presented by the trio I have been working with recently with Luke Brighty and Dorie Jackson.

This is a chance to look back over the songbook and stress the lyric and harmonic elements of some of my favourites from the 100 or so songs I have put out over the years.

I am very excited about this and hope that Coloradians will come and enjoy this more reflective interpretation of the tracks. Delta Rain, Wide Sargasso Sea, Chapter and Verse, Nothing Else Matters, Ten Ten, Singer Shoes, Sycamore Street all take on a different feel when we break them down to acoustic guitar, piano and three part vocal harmony.

I also hope to have the courage to tell some of the tales that lie behind these lyrics. I have never been the best at in between song chit-chat, but I hope that in a more relaxed and intimate enviroment I will be able to pluck up the courage to discuss some of the tunes, and the fact that I have to play guitar all night will be bound to keep me focused!

In the meantime I would like to offer any of you who are interested the chance to ask me about the stories behind any of the songs on the forum and I will post every week during the summer in answer to any inquiries.

I am looking forward to playing at Luke's birthday bash next week and am then off to Cap Ferrat for a few days in the shade of the Villa Mauresque (or at least a few yards down the road from it!).

I first saw that magical name in the dedication of David Niven's wonderful 'The Moon’s a balloon' and have been in love with the Cap and the hill village of Eze ever since.

See you in America in the winter!
