I agree with you Bobbie. The whiners should factor in they were coming off a whirlwind tour going from Portland, Nashville then to Denver all in about a weeks time. Also the Denver shows were played in a very hot theater which did not have any air conditioning. So the playing atmosphire was not primo. All in all they were great as always. It looked like to me that William was a bit tired but still he was out there talking to people, signing autographs and taking pictures. William, Luke and Dori have always been very nice and respectful of there fans. As long as their playing I will be there. Love you guys.

I attended both shows at the Bluebird in Denver...flew out from Washington, DC. I've seen William in Denver, Boulder, Pennsylvania and Arlington, VA,I have all of the CD's, multiple copies. I've seen alot of concerts, heard alot of musicians and the first time I heard William, my search ended. The musicianship, dedication and pure hard work he shows at every concert are unmatched. He is a true artist...true to himself and his art and he gives his all to us at every show. Our support will enable him and Luke and Dorie to continue to awe us, amaze us, inspire us. I know I'll always be there, whether the performance is acoustic or with the band. William Topley is not someone you can put in a box and label...he's an original...one of a kind...unique. Thanks for the great shows, William, Dorie and Luke and for being so gracious to us after the Saturday show.

we were there on Friday night at the Bluebird, experienced 2 hours and 15 minutes of pure bliss.

music was top notch, vibes were great, and i am willing to wait for william topley as long as it takes.

popstars might feel like that have to interface with fans 24/7

artists probably not so much-

worth the ticket price and more-

To all of you whiners, I believe that William Topley always puts on a top notch performance and Friday and Saturday were no exception. He signed and posed for pictures Saturday night. He played a new song, Dawn" both Fri and Sat which as usual showcases this man's wonderful talent in writing and singing. There are two new tracks on re-released version of Water Taxi, as well. Yes, it's the same show as last summer but there is always a different energy and feel to each show. Fridays show was a bit more subdued than Saturday but maybe that was because the crowd didn't participate as much. I will continue to support William in whatever avenue he chooses to grace us with his wonderful baritone voice and literary talent!

The show in Nashville was great!! A good time was had by all in my crowd for sure. It was my first William Topley concert and will definitely attend more in the future. William and crew were more than gracious to take pics and sign CDS for my wife, sister, and brother-in-law after the show. As a police officer I could really relate to "Trouble comes at Night". The Cutlery salesman...lol.

Sophia,
Expectation is predetermined resentment. I first saw William at the
American Music Festival in Winter Park, and almost every show since, some two nights and three nights in a row.
William has been more accessible in the past and I was disappointed when I did not get to go back stage or see him come out after a show. I always thought
it was important for him to know how good I thought he was.
I always thought it was unusual that William had as much contact with his
fans (fanatics...) as he did and I was grateful for what ever opportunity I had
to be as close I as was able to.
But you know, although things change, the song writing , his vocals, and the musicianship have always met or exceeded my expectation, and that was what I have been able to count on, every concert.
When I give something out of appreciation, I do not expect acknowledgment,
it is my way of showing gratitude.

Last night in Denver marked the latest in nearly 20 years of support for Mr. Topley's music. I've seen him play everywhere in Colorado, often attending multiple nights and have purchased every CD that has been available, often multiple copies. Like many of you, I've sung his praises far and wide, and urged others to have the same complex relationship with these beautiful songs and soulful singer. That said, I think that was my last show. In the bar before the performance, a friend and I sent his table drinks not wanting to intrude on their privacy. Not so much as a thank you. We observed them send a fan packing who wanted a photo -- I ran into her later and she felt roundly scolded. Why wait until 10 to start? No seats in this venue, 2 hours is a long lead-time. The show itself is so low-key in this incarnation, that it really doesn't lend itself to "open standing". And "William won't come out unless you stomp your feet and call his name." Really? Isn't this ego a bit out of place?
We were told that "we must work hard to get our rewards" and I think we did. I'm out in Colorado in venues of all sizes, to shows that start later every week. It's a tough business out there, and the artists need our support. I felt patronzied, and left a little sad. I'll continue to go the Bluebird, Hi-Dive, Meadowlark and Gothic in support of musicians that love to play. And I'll listen to Topley on my many CDs and remember when we felt that connection with him. Thanks for the wonderful memories, we do love you.

William, Dorie and Luke put on a great show in Nashville last night. Overcoming the heat, a temperamental guitar jack and a dodgy incident with the neighborhood cutlery vendor during their break (a future song perhaps?…”Never has travel insurance seemed so moderately priced.”), they played many off Water Taxi and worked in Uptown, Sycamore Street, Mannish Waters, Drink Called Love and others of the “more familiar”. After the show they were all very gracious to chat, sign CDs and chat with fans. Lady with the Small Daughter (Rebecca?), I passed your note to William and he promised to read it. I’m too old to be gushy, but if you read this William, please keep the music coming. It means a lot to us and if you come back to Nashville I promise we’ll work on the heat thing! ‘-) Enjoy Denver!

The crowd was smaller than usual, probably due to somewhat short notice about the concert. I only found out about it that afternoon, so possibly other folks missed out due to not knowing about it. That said, our Portland show at the Mission Theater was absolutely wonderful, as always, and with more advance notice next time, I know we’d fill the place to overflowing!

William, Dorie and Luke looked excellent and sounded fantastic. They opened with Ten, Ten, Ten and moved into several songs from Water Taxi. The music was a totally satisfying blend of old and new, and William’s voice has never sounded better.

There were some amazing guitar jams with Luke and William (his guitar was being a bit temperamental, and needed tweaking between songs, but we all let him know we didn't mind that at all, and would wait as long as it took). At the end he laid the guitar on the stage, and just sang with so much power and emotion that it was completely spine-tingling!

It was a magical evening and I’m already looking forward to next time.

Thanks Lisa for posting of the playlist. Have really enjoyed listening to these unique selections, many from previously unknown artists. Is always a pleasure to discover new music! (Sadly, "Spotify" is not available for use in the U.S. at this time, but the listen was worth the song searches.

Hopefully we will hear some more from All in the Downs tonight, it has to be William's masterpiece I still cannot get enough of it, and although i'm loving the latest songs from Water Taxi "ALL' still has the edge for me, there is not one bad track on that album . See you tonight William Luke and Dorie

Ten Ten Ten, Trouble Comes at Night, Manish Water, Hurricane Room and Black Eyed Susan. And if Dorie could do a couple of verses of Black Eyed that would be cool. At the Mission.

Thanks for such awesome music! We're looking forward to welcoming you to Denver once again. Any chance for drums, base and keyboard this time around? I attended the last 3 concerts with my mother (Marilyn) who has since passed away. We had a blast! Some of the best memories. Request: As The Sun Goes Down

Great to see you back in Nashville so soon! Before last year, it was a long wait since Cafe Milano (remember?!). Hope to hear 'Blackmail' and see the place full of folks singing along.

How about some of these when you come to Denver? There are so many, but I don't think I've heard you do any of these and they are great songs: How Did You Know?, Sophia, Paramount 1009, Handle with Care, Whipping Boy. I could go on, but I don't want to seem too greedy!!!

Can't wait to see you at the Bluebird!
